A New York based contemporary, mixed media artist, Jojo Anavim depicts subversive and nostalgic plays on icons of the past and present by using a wide range of techniques and mediums. From his use of vintage collage, acrylic and aerosol paint to diamond dust and resin, Anavim's profound background in fine design frequently emulates Andy Warhol's screen printing process. Inspired by graphic artists Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg, Anavim combines his signature vintage collage backdrops with the application of a vibrant color palette similar to his predecessors.
Anavim’s artworks are part of permanent collections in museums and hotels around the globe - including Dream's Downtown and Midtown Hotel, New York, NY; Coca-Cola Archives Museum, Atlanta, GA; New York Yankees City Seats Collection, New York, NY; and Surf Lodge Hotel, Montauk, NY. Anavim is also recognized for his commissions for NBA players, business moguls and top-charting musicians.
Anavim has been featured in global media publications including Business Insider, Esquire, New York Post and New York Times. In addition, Anavim supports and donates his work to many non-profits including Art For Life, amfAR, National Meningitis Association, FIDF and The World Values Network.
